Talbot Partnership Offers Parent Education Meetings
In response to what parents expressed at the recent town meetings on adolescent substance abuse, Talbot Partnership is offering a series of parent meetings called "Parents Together" to help parents with the daunting task of raising drug free youth.
Parents Together provides education and support to parents, grandparents and other adults concerned about raising children to be alcohol, tobacco and other drug free. The meetings will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Easton from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on April 25, May 23 and June 20. The session topics include "The New Face of Drugs" (April 25), covering today's drugs and their effects on our children; "Living the Nightmare" (May 23), including a panel of parents who will share their struggles with the consequences of their children's drug abuse; and "Empowering Parents" (June 20), providing strategies for supporting adults who uphold the laws and for confronting those who do not.
For further information or to RSVP to any of the above meetings, call Talbot Partnership at 410-819-8067 or e-mail info@talbotpartnership.org. Other resources for parents include www.TheAntiDrug.com and www.everyparentcan.org.
