Law Enforcement Action Team - LEAT
Talbot Partnership develops policies and coordinates activities to maintain drug-free roads and decrease youth access to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
Through the Law Enforcement Action Team, Talbot Partnership works to:
- Coordinate continuous dialogue among law enforcement, health and human services, and school systems regarding substance abuse
- Conduct training for officers to ensure enforcement of zero-tolerance of underage drinking and DUI laws
- Organize highway safety efforts to curtail impaired driving, including funding for saturation patrols, sobriety checkpoints, court monitors, bartender training, safe party information kits, and health fairs
- Promote and coordinate compliance check on sales of alcohol and tobacco to minors
- Coordinate advocacy groups to support pertinent tobacco and alcohol legislation, locally and statewide
- Encourage traffic safety through education about safety belts, child safety seats, and bike helmets
